Multichannel operations director Kieran Shanahan has gone from shop floor to head office at an impressive pace. Starting off as a pizza counter colleague, Shanahan quickly became project manager to then Asda president & CEO Andy Bond in 2005. A GSM by 24, Kieran then added the role of regional operations manager for Northern Ireland before being given the high-profile position of home shopping director. Since taking on the role, he has led the retailer’s home shopping business to double-digit growth and is expanding its click & collect service. “I see Kieran as a future CEO,” says former Asda president Andy Bond. “He has an excellent combination of retail flair, operational expertise and determination.” Shanahan could also see a future abroad with his role within Walmart’s e-commerce strategy highly commended by colleagues.
