Asda is celebrating its 60th Christmas with a lineup that leans into nostalgia. Its new festive fondue kit features dippable charcuterie, tapping into the 1960s fondue revival, while a cross-store gingerbread man takeover brings charm to desserts, doughnuts and gifting. On-trend pistachio takes a starring role in profiteroles and a milk chocolate cream liqueur.
”This year pistachio has certainly had its moment, so it would be unthinkable for us not to develop products in this space,” says senior product development and innovation manager Victoria Kisiel. “Again, we’ve taken a trending flavour we know will resonate with our customers and infused it in products we know will appeal to them.”
Party food includes new formats such as mini battered sausages with chip shop curry dip, fish & chip stacks, and pigs in duvets with cheese fondue dip.
Asda’s Exceptional range features centrepieces including a heritage slate turkey crown with apple & cranberry stuffing, a slow-cured rack of pork with truffle butter, and a 30-day matured British beef chateaubriand. For the more humble shopper, the retailer has a pre-prepared slow-cooked turkey with all the trimmings box.
