The new 300-product range is available exclusively to Confex members

Confex has officially launched its new Core own-label range for foodservice customers.

The Cotswolds-based buying group has worked with Arete Procurement, which was founded by ex-Caterforce MD Nick Redford, to create the 300-strong range of catering products. These include ambient, chilled, frozen and non-food lines.

“Members are now able to start placing orders and stocking the range, which will enable them to provide a competent and commercially competitive offer to their customers,” said Confex business development manager Matt Norman.

“The future looks bright for our members in 2021 and we are confident as we continue the rollout of the own brand, they will thrive as the sector re-emerges from the pain of lockdown. Members will have a brand in Core that gives them a point of difference against their competitors.”

Meanwhile, Confex has also announced plans to downsize its head office from its current location in Moreton-in-Marsh to Upper Rissington in Oxfordshire.

Confex will introduce a combination of office and home working from 1 February as a result of the pandemic.

“The pandemic has changed many working practices on so many levels globally and at Confex we have been astounded at how well our team adapted from day one working from home,” said head of HR and marketing Jess Douglas.

“Efficiency and communication has remained consistent due to the technology we now have available and so management decided we no longer need such a huge office space and would give employees the flexibility to work from home on a more permanent basis.”
