This article glosses over one very big reason why many consumers (and not just vegans) are starting to find dairy unacceptable. In order to produce milk, cows must go through the pregnancy cycle. There is no way of getting around this. Cows are inseminated by farmers/producers and their offspring are taken from them after birth to stop them from drinking the milk the mother produces for her baby. The mother and child do not get to live a natural life together. The dairy cows goes through this cycle of being made pregnant and having her child taken away multiple times in her life. As as I said, even non-vegans are starting to see this as unacceptable. There is no way any farmer, no matter the good intentions and love for animals, can make this process kind or humane. Dairy is on the way out for good as people start to have their awareness raised surrounding the process.
