Coca-Cola plans to start the new year with a Wayne Rooney-fronted promotion giving football fans the chance to win £25,000 for their club to buy a top youth player.

The promotion, which will be supported with a £600,000 marketing campaign, will feature on 330ml, 500ml and two-litre packs of Coca-Cola and Coke Zero. It will run for eight weeks with a £25,000 draw taking place every week, starting on 12 January.

A £1,000 cash price is also up for grabs , as well as a shirt signed by Rooney.
