Newly formed ethnic foods company Latina Brands is bringing Cuban and South American flavours to the forefront with the launch of five cooking sauces ­ its first product range. The company, headed by former Sharwood's md Elaine Underwood, aims to harness interest in the Latin American lifestyle. Working in conjunction with South American raw material suppliers, Latina has developed a range based on the Latin American diet which focuses on corn rather than wheat and is low in fat and high in proteins from chicken, fish and pulses.
