A flagship Select & Save store has opened in Coventry.
The store, owned and run by Kulwant and Gaz Bains, sells newspapers and magazines, beers, wines and spirits, chilled, frozen and fruit & veg and has an enhanced grocery range, as well as a cash machine and lottery.
The store is running three-week special offers, which it said made prices lower than Tesco's. Nigel Hickinbottom, Select & Save retail operations manager, said the store broke all targets over the first weekend of trading.
