Sainsbury’s is on a roll - with yet another win. And it was a good experience from start to finish: an employee was sweeping up in the car park, inside the entrance had a “good Halloween display”, staff were “in all instances really friendly”, there were no checkout queues and availability was good.

“A display screen in the foyer shows live bus timetables” at Waitrose Bedford. The “pleasant, though relatively small store” has its frozen section in the middle. Staff were “polite and helpful” and always checked for stock if something wasn’t on the shelf. Our shopper would definitely return.

Morrisons in Catcliffe has recently refurbished its café and it is “large and attractive”. The store was “tidy but one trolley had been abandoned”. Staff responses were “variable” with some offering to look for items or some just telling our shopper where items should be. However, “Mo on checkout was extremely friendly and a credit to the store”.

There were lots of promo displays at Asda Cwmbran, but some clothing displays “looked messy”. The fruit & veg section “was a bit empty but restocking was taking place”. Staff experiences were mixed but checkout was “friendly and fast”.

Tesco New Malden had “a difficult to navigate car park”. There were “plentiful offers of spirits, chocolate and Diwali products” at the entrance. Quite a few unmanned restocking trolleys got in the way and the customer toilets were “in a very poor condition”. “Staff were thin on the ground but smiley and willing to help”. Availability was quite poor.
