A strong 81 points this week for Waitrose Balham. A very small car park meant queues to get in but an attendant was directing customers to available spaces. “The store was busy” and there were “seasonal displays” by the entrance. The store was “very tidy with logical signage” and “a great-looking sushi counter”, which was a pleasant surprise. Our shopper “will definitely visit again”.

Sainsbury’s Bamber Bridge was a close second with its “spacious and bright” store. It was a “busy time and there was a lot of stock replenishment” happening without obstructing aisles. Shop floor staff were “well presented, polite and friendly” but didn’t take our shopper to items. Management was visible on the shop floor.

Though the car park at Asda Bromborough was “tidy and spacious” the store entrance seemed “cluttered”. Generally stock replenishment was unobtrusive but the cake aisle was obstructed by “two members of staff and lots of boxes”. Staff experiences were mixed, with only some going the extra mile.

Morrisons in Glasgow looked “fresh after a recent refurbishment” though merchandising “wasn’t particularly noticeable or vibrant”. It felt “understaffed” and it was “difficult to find a member of staff”. Overall a “good local store” but with “limited services”.

It was impressive to see a “manager attending to a spillage” at Tesco Willenhall. The store seemed “a little dark and the layout was confusing” but staff were “so helpful” as our shopper tried to locate items, but availability was very poor, with 10 items not stocked.
