David Sinfield is making the jump from The John Lewis Partnership to Majestic Wine Warehouses to take on the role of marketing director
Sinfield will be reporting to Steve Lewis, Majestic's chief operating officer, when he makes the move across to the wine retailer in mid-August.
"We are confident David will make a great contribution to the success of the company," said Lewis.
Before John Lewis, where he was head of category and direct marketing, he was head of stores marketing at Safeway.
Before that he was restaurant chain TGI Friday's brand marketing manager.
