Agrovista has developed the UK’s first early warning system for fireblight - a contagious bacterial disease affecting apples and pears.
The software, being launched on 22 July, calculates the likelihood based on live data collected from 40 fruit-specific UK weather stations.
The fireblight service will be available free of charge to subscribers to Agrovista’s cloud-based forecasting service for fruit growers Growers Choice Interactive (GCI).
