The Co-operative Group’s new Loved by Us range is set to hit shelves on Monday.
Food-to-go will be the first products in the overhauled offer to go on shelf. They will be followed later in the month by ready meals and pies, and pizzas from October.
The food-to-go range will include 30 new products as well as a number of revamped existing lines.
They will all contain 100% British meat, poultry and fish wherever possible, as well as British free-range eggs.
New breakfast products include porridge and fruit pots and smoothies.
The society said the lunch offer had been inspired by world cuisine from countries such as Japan, India, Morocco and the Middle East with flatbreads, wraps and sushi rolls included in the range, as well as salads and desserts.
Its sandwiches have also been overhauled with softer breads and extra fillings. The society’s prawn sandwich, for example, now has 50% more prawns.
The Co-op is preparing shoppers for the launch through leaflet drops near stores. The leaflets explain the new products and highlight its £3 lunchtime deal of a main, snack and drink.
