Bakkavor finished way ahead of the competition in the own-label chilled category as category buyers acknowledged how it led the way in “supply, innovation and category insight”. Bakkavor was “always delivering first to market process and, as such, first to market products. Its innovation teams are always working to innovate ahead of the market”.
But recognition of its improved performance and the value it delivers was also recognised among commercial directors at a company-wide level, as Bakkavor won the overall own-label supplier of the year competition, seeing off competition from rivals including Princes and Tyrrell’s.
“Bakkavor stands out among our own-label suppliers because of its expertise,” said one commercial director. “It’s always driving customer insights, owning categories and applying this in store,” said another. “Its sales team is very strong.”
