The Food from Britain Export Awards 2004 are the ultimate showcase for exporters’ achievements. So get those entries in!

Are you proud of your export success? Do you want to gain recognition for building and growing your international business? If the answer to these questions is yes, then why not enter the Food from Britain Export Awards 2004?
The awards, which are run in association with The Grocer, celebrate the significant achievements of British food and drink exporters. Now in their eighth year, they are widely recognised as being the gold standard for export success.
Entering is easy - and, best of all, it’s free! Visit www.foodfrombritain.com/awards where you will find an online entry form and full information.
There are seven product categories to enter: cereal-based, dairy, drinks, grocery, frozen and chilled, seafood and speciality. In addition, there are four national awards categories - English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish - into which all entrants are automatically entered. There is also an award recognising marketing innovation, and this year there is a new award for best exhibitor at an international show.
We want to hear from all UK exporters that can demonstrate a sound strategy for developing and growing export sales over the last three years.
It does not matter what size of business you run - or its turnover. This year an award for best new exporter has also been developed. This is for all companies that are new to exporting but feel they have a compelling success story to tell.
The winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on December 15 at the Hotel Inter-Continental, London. This follows the annual Network Forum, where you can discuss export strategy with FFB’s experienced international consultants. Guests will also enjoy a delicious all-British luncheon before the awards ceremony.
Simon Waring, FFB’s marketing and international management director, said: “With 2003 British food and drink export figures up 10% on 2002, and valued at £9.8bn, the British food and drink export industry is thriving. We want to reward the commitment and dedication of the industry, so are now seeking the export stars of 2004.
“Over the last year as new markets have opened up, and we continue to build on our reputation for innovation, we have seen companies of all sizes and product sectors excelling internationally. We now want to hear from these companies so they get the applause and profile they deserve.”
Winners not only get the glory on the awards day, but can use their accolade to enhance their profile and as a seal of success within their marketing and promotional materials.
Last year’s overall winner was Burton’s Foods, which also won the category for best cereal-based exporter.
The other winners last year were Aarhus United UK, Ashbury Confectionery, British Seafood; Bruichladdich Distillery, Dale Farm Ingredients, Dairy Crest, Farne Salmon and Trout, HM Bennett, the Patchwork Traditional Food Company, Sco-Fro and The Juice Company. In addition, Migros was named international retailer of the year.
So if you think you have got what it takes to replicate their success, point your web browser towards the Food from Britain site.
But hurry! The deadline for entries is October 1.
