An energy supplements range used by the British troops in Afghanistan is preparing itself for a mainstream launch.

Mountain Fuel, from the company of the same name, is a range of five energising sachet drinks containing carbohydrates, nutrients and vitamins that can "withstand extreme conditions".

Morning Fuel, Xtreme Energy Fuel, Ultimate Recovery Fuel, Night Fuel and the Three-day fuel pack come in the same flavour but different strengths.

The company has just appointed former regional Coca-Cola Enterprises director Gerry Stacey as MD and invested in a new £100,000 production facility in Gwent.

"Mountain Fuel is ready to up the ante and expand from the extreme endurance territory and sports into more mainstream retail markets," said Stacey.

A Mountain Fuel bar is due to join the line-up shortly.
