Captain Morgan Rum is approaching Christmas in confident mood, claiming an 11% growth in sales over the past year to consolidate its position as the UK's bestselling dark rum. To celebrate, it has produced a new look Christmas gift tin for its 70cl bottles, rsp: £11.99. The eye-catching packaging sports a matt-black background which acts as a backdrop to a bright Captain Morgan logo given greater prominence than usual. Another added extra for consumers are three simple recipes for cocktails ­ Dark Horse Morgan, Caribbean Romance and Black Magic ­ printed on the back of the tin. Inside, each tin contains a promotional leaflet offering the chance to win a weekend at a luxury spa hotel and runners-up prizes from a range of branded goods. The leaflet also outlines the history of the brand and offers four more cocktail recipes.
