Sir; re:'Punch and Judy with bogus allegations' (The Grocer, Letters May 24th). The Food Standards Agency's Neil,Martinson would do well to read the FSA's own press release on its Citizens' Jury.
This announced that the jury had concluded that GM food should be available to buy in the UK, but the press release made absolutely no mention of the fact that the jurors had unanimously concluded that GM crops should not be grown in the UK now. This rather salient finding only came to light very recently and had not been publicised by the FSA at all.
It would be puzzling as to why the FSA had been so selective in its representation of the facts were it not for its burgeoning reputation as a pro-GM campaigner.
