CK's Supermarkets has been fined £18,000 for selling out-of-date food, including garlic sausage five weeks past its use-by date.
The company admitted 12 offences of breaching food labelling regulations at two of its stores in Swansea and Bargoed .
CK's was also ordered to pay £1,323.36 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Caerphilly magistrates were told the company had overhauled its training in all stores in order to address the problem.
MD Christopher Kiley declined to comment after the hearing.
