Coca-Cola said that it has no plans to bring back its controversial purified Dasani water to the UK and has also delayed plans for the brand’s launch on the continent.

Dasani was recalled last week after it was found to contain illegal levels of bromate, a potentially cancer-causing chemical.

Plans to launch Dasani in Germany this month and in France in April have been delayed indefinitely. In a statement Cola-Cola said that the timing for the launch was “no longer considered optimal.”

Although the continental version of Dasani was to be sourced from a Belgian spring, industry experts believed it would have difficulty competing against Perrier, Evian, and Vittel in France, following the problems in the UK.
