Dairy Farmers of Britain has sold Nene Valley Foods to Meadow Foods for an undisclosed sum.
Nene Valley, which processes packaged cream for the food ingredients market, will continue to run its Peterborough site alongside Meadow's facilities in Chester and Holme-upon-Spalding Moor.
"Our strategy is to provide long-term security of supply of critical dairy ingredients to the major food manufacturers in the UK," said Meadow chairman Simon Chantler.
DFB chairman John Grantchester said the sale was part of a review of DFB's processing activity.
