A low-sugar variant of Sunny Delight will hit shop shelves this summer. Procter & Gamble has brought the launch forward by a couple of months to counter negative press coverage centring on the high sugar content of Sunny Delight. So far the bad press has done little to slow the brand's momentum. Since its launch in 1998 Sunny Delight has become a £200m a year brand and number one player in the fruit juice and juice drinks market. P&G will continue supporting Sunny D this year with a huge marketing campaign. A new website is also being launched at www.sunnyd.com. And a Caribbean Style fruit flavour was officially launched at this week's ProRetail. Among the raft of new product launches was Swiffer, a household cleaning product consisting of a "sweeper" and disposable electrostatic sheets that trap dust. A starter kit will retail for £11.99, while packs of wipes will retail for £1.79 (for a pack of eight), £2.99 (for 16) and £5.69 (for 32). The launch is being supported by an £8m marketing spend this year. P&G also used P&H's show to launch pizza flavoured Pringles, which will be available from July. {{NEWS }}
