Morning Noon & Night founder Eddie Thompson has increased his grip on the company by buying a tranche of shares from private equity backers 3i and Aberdeen Development Capital (ADC). Thompson is understood to have paid a seven figure sum to buy out all of ADC's stake and a "large proportion" of 3I's ordinary shares in the business to take a significant controlling interest in the Dundee based c-store chain. He said: "I made my mind up I wanted to take greater control of the company. This has obviously been hard to accept for the private equity players because our return on capital has been so good." The MN&N shareholders are now Thompson, company director Fraser Mackay with a minority stake, and 3i. {{NEWS }}
