The Food and Drink Federation has lashed out at a Which? report criticising the quality of supermarkets' premium own label ranges. The report claims that the extra price paid for these ranges does not guarantee better tasting food. It bases its comments on taste tests conducted by inspectors from the Good Food Guide. But the FDF defended upmarket ranges, saying: "Consumers aren't fools. "They are very savvy and if a shopper feels they are being had, they won't buy that product again." The FDF said that premium products generally justified the amount of money charged for them. {{NEWS }}
