Food Brokers MD Hamish Gibson has quit the company after a clash of opinion over where the company’s future lies.
Toby Cracknell, Food Brokers director for new business, said: “There were significant differences of opinion regarding the strategic direction the company was taking. As a result, Hamish’s position became untenable and he departed soon afterwards. I wish him well for the future.”
As a result of Gibson’s departure, Toby Cracknell has added the role of deputy MD to his duties and his brother Victor, who is chairman, has also taken on the job of MD.
The business, which handles
sales, merchandising, field marketing and distribution for brands such as Campbell’s and Masterfoods, was founded in 1961 by Desmond Cracknell, its first chairman. He died in 2001 to be succeeded by Victor, one of his sons.
