Jerry Fowden has made a return to Bass Brewers as chief executive, replacing Iain Napier who has resigned as the judicial review proceedings of the government's block on Interbrew's purchase of Bass were wound up. Fowden will also be an executive vice president of Interbrew and a member of the executive management committee. He first joined Bass in 1992 as customer services and sales director, and was chief operating officer between 1994 and 1996. He returns five years on from the Board of the Rank Group. Prior to that he was CEO of Hero Group Beverages and European sales director for Pepsi-Cola International. Interbrew CEO Hugo Powell said: "Given his close knowledge of the UK beverage industry, Jerry was a deliberate choice to ensure a smooth transition, stability and continuity at this time." Napier said: "As the judicial review process draws to its conclusion, I feel it is an appropriate time for me to move on and pursue other interests." {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
