The Food Standards Agency has conducted a survey into the levels of the preservatives benzoates and sorbates found in soft drinks.

The survey, which looked at 300 samples of soft drinks for benzoates and sorbates, found that 99% of the drinks tested did not contain either preservatives above the permitted limits.

However, four drinks were found to contain the preservatives at levels above the legal limit but were not considered to be a concern for people’s health.
