Fresh produce importer and distributor, Fyffes, is to sell some non-core assets and said it is on target to meet expectations for the year to the end of December.

The group will sell an office building at Farnham Royal, London, an industrial property at Dundalk, Co Louth and lands at Kinsealy, Co Dublin for a total of some 20m euros.

The group is to continue its strategic focus on the development of its business, both internally and by acquisition and had so far spent in excess of 55m euros in 2002.

Fyffes added that its acquisition of an 80% stake in German fresh produce company Internationale Fruchtimport Gesellschaft Weichert & Co in Hamburg has been completed.
