Going for gold

The Golden Casket Group consists of Buchanan's of Scotland, Drysdale & Gibb and Golden Casket (Greenock). Says managing director Douglas Rae: "The group is best known for Millions chewy sweets and Gilda Dragee from Golden Casket; the Halfpounders pre-packed range plus jar lines such as Perfection Toffees, Chocolate Russian Caramels and Chocolate Italian Creams from Buchanan's, and Gibb's the Confectioners' boiled sweets like clove rock and soor plooms." The group has recently extended its Greenock facility by 10,000 sq ft, or almost a third. "This move is a true reflection of the company's growing success over the past four years," says Rae. "Production has increased, with the group now distributing over 70 tonnes of confectionery every week."{{FOCUS SPECIALS}}
