A super-egg dubbed Benefic was one of many better-for-you products launched at this week’s Sial food exhibition in Paris. The egg has taken three years to develop and is said to contain high doses of valuable vitamins, nutrients and anti-oxidants. It is also high in omega 3.

Benefic has been developed by Groupe Glon. The eggs - which are laid by birds that have been fed on a special diet - will go on sale in France in January. There are no plans to bring the concept to the UK.
