This is the fourth site fromTom and Ed Martin, the brothers behind the East London-based stable of gastropubs that includes The Gun, E14, The Well, EC1, and The White Swan Pub and Dining Room, EC4.

The site has been named after a title given to Queen Victoria in 1877, and is appropriately in Victoria Park, E9.

The cv of the head chef Tim Wilson includes time in the kitchen at The Ivy and Medcalf - the butchers shop turned award-winning restaurant.

The menu includes: Crab Bisque, Cognac Cream; Endive, Walnut, Pear and Roquefort salad; Gloucester Old Spot, Prune and Apple Meatballs with Mash; Game Pie with Savoy Cabbage and Chestnuts; Pear Tarte Tatin with Calvados Ice Cream; Chocolate and Pistachio Terrine with Crème Anglaise.

Diners can eat a relaxing meal in this 19th-century corner site with black and white mosaic tiled floor, claret leather-covered banquettes and chairs, dark beech tables and hand painted silk wallpaper depicting colonial India. The restaurant can accommodate 70 covers inside and a further 30 outside when it's warmer.

Expect to spend about £35 per head. The wine list ranges from £13 to £90 a bottle.
