Shipley steps down

Debra Shipley is standing down as chair of the Drinkaware Trust for personal reasons. Shipley, a former MP for Stourbridge, had held the post since the Trust was established eight months ago and CEO Jean Collingwood said the Trust had benefited from her wealth of political, media and campaigning experience.

Eggsell's new MD

Barry Jackson, former chief executive of the Central Egg Agency, has become the MD of egg marketing co-operative Eggsell. He will lead the co-op's efforts to build relations between farmers and retailers while cutting food miles and ensuring a good return for all parties in the chain. "We have had a tremendous response from producers and packers who want to be involved," said Jackson.

Commercial affairs

Glen Stevens has been appointed to the newly created position of commercial director for Cheshire-based food ingredient supplier Mayfair Foods. He was previously head of merchant trade at canned foods, oils and fats supplier Pacchini Foodservice in Liverpool. The new position has been created to help drive further growth, said Stevens.

McKenna signs up

Margaret McKenna has been named the new president of the Wal-Mart Foundation. McKenna joins Wal-Mart following a long career in the public and non-profit sectors, most recently as president of Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
