Kerry Group is in exclusive talks to acquire the global flavours business of Cargill.

The division provides flavour ingredients and systems for the beverage and dairy markets - spanning the sweet and savoury sectors - through a network of centres spanning 22 countries.

“The acquisition of Cargill Flavor Systems would again advance Kerry’s capability to provide unrivalled innovative integrated customer solutions across all food and beverage end-use markets and extend the Group’s market spread in emerging markets,” said Kerry chief executive Stan McCarthy.

The news comes as the OFT this week referred Kerry’s acquisition of Headland Foods - completed in January - to the Competition Commission.
