Eye Spy!, a magazine dedicated to subjects such as intelligence, espionage and terrorism, was launched on Thursday from Eye Spy Publishing. Priced £2.99, it aims to capitalise on what the publisher calls "the recent explosion of interest in the subject of intelligence". The launch issue, which has been publicised by The Express newspaper, features a look inside Britain's GCHQ spy headquarters, an interview with ex-SIS officer Richard Tomlinson and an exposé on an RAF Chinook helicopter crash. The magazine is made up of a mix of articles, interviews, news stories and review and will initially be published eight times a year, although there are plans for a move to monthly publication in 2002. According to Eye Spy Publishing, the editorial staff have been drawn from around the world and many are, or have been, closely associated with government, the military and the intelligence services, including MI5 and the CIA. The launch is being supported with an advertising campaign in military and aviation magazines, along with Sunday papers and other magazines of interest to Eye Spy! readers. A leaflet promotion is also taking place and an Eye Spy! website, www.eye-spy.co.uk, was launched simultaneously. Eye Spy! is distributed by Seymour. {{CTN }}
