Mike Rogers quit his job in advertising in 1991 to start Philglas & Swiggot with his wife Karen amid fears he would soon be out of work. "It was the pit of a recession and the advertising industry was the first to be hit," he says. "It was a dark cloud on the horizon. We didn't pick the year but just responded to the time." To make ends meet, Rogers got a job in charge of export sales for Wolf Blass while Karen ran the business. He joined her full time in 2001 when it opened its second store in Richmond
