A DVD rental service for convenience retailers has signed up its 150th store.
The Webb Group's Rent It Here service, a touchscreen system that allows customers to choose and rent DVDs and Blu-Ray films, reached the landmark last week with its installation at a Nisa store in Walsall.
The company is installing an average of 10 machines every week at c-stores across the UK. Retailers receive a 20% share of the rental revenue generated by the machine in their store.
"We've got ambitious plans for Rent It Here and are heading for over 100,000 rentals to date," said marketing director David Robinson. "Consumers are demanding convenience and UK home movie watchers don't want to have to plan a visit to their nearest rental store every time they want to rent movies."
