What's your favourite restaurant? Andrew Fairlie's at Gleneagles. The ­setting is unbeatable and the smoked ­lobster is to die for.

Do you prefer healthy food or junk food? Healthy. The problem is I don't know what is healthy anymore.

What would you request as your final meal? Bar Roma (Edinburgh). They do a lovely chilli prawn, add a slice or two of Italian bread - sorted.

What would you rescue from your house if it was burning? After my wife Alison and kids William and Aimee, probably watches and computer. My insurance certificate would also be good.

What's your fantasy car... and what do you actually drive? Aston Martin, but a Ferrari has constant appeal. ­Currently driving a BMW. It's a good car.

What are you reading? A very thick business plan. It helps me to sleep at night. I also read the Autobiography of Cod recently; it was very entertaining.

What gadgets do you carry with you? My PDA/phone and my iPod.

What was the last film you went to see at the cinema? Ice Age 2. I probably enjoyed it more than the kids.

What's the most embarrassing ­moment of your professional life? There have been so many. I did run out of fuel with the boss in the car once. I am sure we were late for the meeting.

What are your pet hates? Ringing phones, 1966, bullies and speed bumps.

What's the best holiday you've ever had? My honeymoon, of course. The Caribbean was good fun.

Do you prefer rugby, football or cricket? Football, especially the Champions League. It has been the greatest show on earth for a number of years.

If England doesn't win the World Cup, who will? I can't see past Brazil.

What's your motto for life? Live life in the light of eternity, and treat all ­people in the manner you wish to be treated.
