Isle of Man-based Shoprite will open its ninth food store next month in Village Walk, Onchan.
The chain posted a sharp drop in operating profit from £363,000 to £306,000 in the 28 weeks to July 17, reflecting investment in lower prices, said chairman Deryck Nicholson.
Unveiling a 2.5% rise in sales to £29.5m, he said new EPoS and IT had improved efficiency. Growth at the eight foodstores and wine warehouses was being driven by the ClubMANN loyalty programme, a stronger fresh offer, extended ranges and better availability, he said.
