Future Publishing is rolling out a major promotional push for Official PlayStation 2 Magazine, which it says is its fastest growing monthly title. The Bath-based publisher which specialises in computer and gaming titles is spending £300,000 on promoting OPS2, making it Future's most substantial above-the-line spend on a single advertising campaign to date. The aim of the ad campaign, which runs from late August to December, is to raise awareness of the magazine brand among PlayStation 2 users and convert them into new readers. It will promote Official PlayStation 2 Magazine through the national press, television and through outdoor advertising. The print campaign will also feature across Future Publishing's own portfolio of games magazines as well as its non-games magazines. Bob Pegley, publisher of Official PlayStation 2 Magazine, said: "With PlayStation 2 gaming becoming more mainstream, this is the right time for us to be giving the Official Magazine the support it needs to become a leader in the entertainment magazine market as a whole  taking on the bestselling music and film titles. "Timed to catch sales at their best, the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine campaign will build on the awareness of the Official Magazine brand and promote the title as console fever reaches its Christmas high." l Last month distributor Seymour reported that Sony PlayStation titles were leading the recovery in the computer magazine market with around 40% of the sector's rsv generated by console-driven magazines. Sony accounts for 31.1% of the sector compared with 28.4% this time last year. and is worth 50% more than its nearest sub-segment {{CTN }}
