Roys of Wroxham has appointed Roger Ridley-Thomas as chairman following the death of Peter Roy earlier this year.
Ridley-Thomas has been a non-executive director of the East Anglian independent retailer for the last seven years.
His background is mainly in the publishing industry and he joined from Thomson Regional Newspapers where he was managing director.
Brian Godfrey, MD of Roys of Wroxham, which is ranked 17th in The Grocer Top 50, said: “I am delighted that Ridley-Thomas has agreed to accept this important role which will bring the company the benefits of his considerable business experience and knowledge.”
