Pretzel manufacturer Union Snack has promoted founding director Calum Ryder to MD, replacing John Pike who steps down after eight years.
Pike will remain an executive director, focusing on business development.
Ryder has driven the company’s growth since its launch in 1996. The company said annual sales, which stand at £5.4m, had doubled in the last two years.
Ryder will retain his previous responsibilities for operations and technical departments but will also oversee sales, marketing and commercial functions.
He began his career in the food business as production manager at MD Foods in 1988. He has also worked for Derwent Valley Foods and Pride Valley Foods.
He said: “I am looking forward to steering growth and building the popularity of pretzels in the UK and beyond.”
