The European sweet corn crop is predicted to be down by at least 15% this year due to extreme weather conditions.

According to the Association Europenne Des Transformateurs de Mais Doux, high temperatures across the continent hampered the growth of plants and European supply schedules were severely disrupted.

Growers and processors were caught unawares as sweet corn matured at the same time, leading to crop losses blamed on a lack of resources available to process all of it.
