United Wholesale (Scotland) is leaving the Landmark Cash & Carry Group and rejoining the Today's Group from the beginning of February. UW(S) was formed when Labour MP Mohammed Sarwar's Glasgow based United Wholesale Grocers business split in half on January 1 (The Grocer, December 8). The other half of the enterprise  which is run by Mohammed Ramzan  retained the original trading name for the company. UWG defected from Today's to the Landmark Group two years ago. Today's Group managing director Rodney Hunt commented: "With last year's refocus of Today's already taking shape, it's an ideal time for United Wholesale to join. "Their turnover will further enhance our Group 1 trading stance. UW(S) has an annual turnover of £50m. Hunt added: "The Today's Group is continuing to perform well ahead of the market and United's return is resounding proof that we're the number one choice for independent wholesale companies." {{NEWS }}
