PlayStation magazine Play, from Paragon Publishing, is claiming a first in the publishing world with the launch of a television show as a regular DVD covermount. The first covermount went on sale on Thursday (August 8) and every subsequent issue will include a further DVD. Paragon describes Play TV  which takes the form of a two-and-a-half hour broadcast-quality telvision show  as an "interactive PlayStation television show". "For the first time readers can watch proper video reviews featuring the Play team commentating on-screen and delivering their verdict on the month's new games," said a spokesperson for Paragon. Editorial director Damian Butt said: "The launch of Play TV is an important step in magazine publishing and opens great opportunities for both the industry and PlayStation gamers alike. "Press trips and game coverage will never be the same again, with the Play TV camera crew on hand for every event." Every month Play TV promises to feature at least 10 reviews and 10 previews, plus interviews with leading developers and gaming personalities as regular sections. There will also be the latest film and DVD trailers, the A-Z of PS2 reviews and interactive quizzes and hidden extras. The cover price of Play is £3.99 and distribution is by Seymour. {{CTN }}
