Reliance Retail plans Indian growth

INDIA: Retailer Reliance Retail plans to launch three new store formats for the grocery market in India. It hoped to open its first Metro-style cash & carry in the second half of the year said Abhijit Sanyal, chief executive of subsidiary Reliance Fresh . The retailer was also eyeing 30 locations in Delhi and Mumbai for a new 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft gourmet store. Rural business hubs to supply India's farmers with groceries and agricultural goods were also under consideration, he added. "Our vision is to be the most successful retail company in India," said Sanyal.
