Further evidence of the resurgence of classic British dishes has come this week with the news that Waitrose has launched a new faggot ready meal.
The meatballs are being sold as part of a new range of traditional foods that includes Haddock Mornay and Sausage and Mash, as well as the Faggots and Mash combination.
Faggots were promoted by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in his River Cottage Autumn show last week, and the food is an ideal cost-effective option for cold weather, according to Waitrose.
