A Kent brewery is launching two of its bottled beers into selected Waitrose stores as part of the supermarket's locally produced initiative.

The Westerham Brewery in Kent will supply 13 of Waitrose's stores in the south east with its 4% abv Little Scotney Pale Ale, priced at £1.99, and the 4.3% abv British Bulldog at £1.79.

Little Scotney, which was originally brewed exclusively for the National Trust, is described as a refreshing blonde beer that uses hops from the Trust's only hop garden, at Scotney Castle in Kent. The bottle-conditioned best bitter, British Bulldog, which was brewed to commemorate Winston Churchill, is produced

with crystal malt to create

a mahogany colour and a rich malty flavour.

MD Robert Wicks, said, "Supplying locally p roduced beers to Waitrose fits in with the brewery's ethos of supplying local products to a local market."

Branches stocking the beer include Banstead, Coulsdon, Dartford, Dorking, Epsom, Esher, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.
