Hancocks has become the first national confectionery specialist to offer a click & collect service in the UK.
The service will initially be available in the north of England, before being rolled out across all of the pick ‘n’ mix supplier’s 20 cash & carry depots in the new year.
Orders made through Hancocks’ website before 12pm will be ready to collect from 11am the next day.
The Today’s Group member was bought by US food wholesaler Innovative Bites earlier this year in a deal thought to be worth about £100m.
“Offering a nationwide click & collect service means that customers will no longer be confined by their location or have to wait on scheduled delivery slots to get their stock to their business seven days a week,” said Innovative Bites Group CEO Wayne Beedle.
Hancocks has the largest range of sweets and chocolates in the UK, with more than 5,000 SKUs, and racked up £74m worth of sales last year.
“We recognise that our customers are busy people with many pressures, not least their time,” added Beedle.
“To support them we have invested in people and systems that continuously monitor stock carefully, so our customers can now see at a glance what they want and where they can get it. This means that customers that take advantage of our service are able to free up some of their time - an important advantage when you’re running a business.”
