Certus Compliance Group, the parent company of the Scottish SFQC Food Standards Scheme, has acquired Scottish inspection and certification body FCI, which runs the Label Rouge salmon standard.

FCI specialises in certifying aquaculture businesses, commercial fisheries and seafood processors. Its becoming a sister company to SFQC meant seafood companies now had a one-stop-shop for certification and inspection, said SFQC CEO Tim Bailey.

Certus chairman Robert Morgan said the Scottish food and drink industry was looking to strengthen its global position, and his group was looking forward to assisting Scottish companies in achieving this.
