The Co-0perative Group has announced it is switching all its fresh winter blueberries to Fairtrade from November.

Under its Ethical Plan, The Co-op has pledged to ensure that 90% of the primary commodities it sources from the developing world are Fairtrade-certified by the end of 2013. The move to Fairtrade winter blueberries will take it to 80%.

In the summer The Co-op sources non-Fairtrade blueberries from the UK and Europe.
