Rowntree’s is to debut reduced-sugar versions of two of its bestsellers.
30% Reduced Sugar Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles and 30% Reduced Sugar Rowntree’s Randoms will launch exclusively in Tesco next month. More than 76 versions of the recipes were tested to create the two variants, neither contain artificial sweeteners.
Both will be available in sharing bags priced £1.29/110g, with individual pastilles packs at an rsp of £0.51/38g. Limited-edition Randoms singles bags launch in July, when the range hits other retailers.
“We are excited to bring these new products to the shelves and offer real choice for consumers,” a Nestlé spokesperson said.
“This is the result of two years of research and development to create great, alternative products with a great taste and a 30% sugar reduction.”
